2011 Hotel Deals
There are now some great deals available online for both Business and Vacation hotels. Business hotels have gotten a bad rap in recent times. They are hotels located in areas convenient to businesspeople and offer amenities catered to business travelers. The hotels often emphasize form over function, so the hotels themselves may be quite generic and not very aesthetically pleasing. Service, too, may be compromised in the name of functionality. The rationale for this is that business travelers often just need a functional space to sleep and work in on their trip. A small room with Internet access easily meets their needs. Location and affordability are the main advantages of these business hotels. Business hotels often offer extended stay packages for guests who may need to stay for periods longer than a month. Rates are reasonable, and often comparable to renting a serviced apartment. While a serviced apartment may have more space and kitchen amenities, it usually will not have daily maid service or be staffed by hotel reception or a concierge, and may charge separately for utilities. For business trips that are relatively short, a business hotel is often an excellent option as it offers all the necessary amenities at a reasonable cost and a convenient location. Business hotels are not just for business travelers. Budget travelers can often benefit from the low cost and accessible locations of business hotels. A person on holiday may not need traditional hotel amenities such as a swimming pool or fitness center. Often, they are visiting a city to see the city, and do not plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel. In cases such as this, a business hotel is a good choice, especially in expensive metropolitan cities. Staying at an affordable business hotel in a convenient location allows tourists to sight see easily and have a safe and accessible base to return to. Of course, if you want to relax at a hotel with traditional amenities on your holiday, a business hotel may not for you. Some business hotels are recognizing that additional amenities and service can be an extra edge in attracting customers, business travelers or not. Thus, besides the functional room and broadband Internet offerings, they are including amenities found in more traditional vacation hotels. Fitness centers, room service, swimming pools and fine restaurants, massage therapy and spas can be found in business hotels now, as they recognize that some business travelers wish to mix business with pleasure and unwind after a day of meetings. Boutique business hotels are another new trend. These hotels cater primarily to business travelers, but retain a unique charm and personality by offering interesting décor and more intimate, personalized service. The cost of these hotels might be higher than a traditional no-frills business hotel, but the additional amenities, more attractive aesthetics and better service are often worth the higher price. Location is key in choosing a business hotel. Some business hotels are located in popular tourist areas, which make them excellent choices for budget travelers. Others are located closer to specific business areas and technology parks, which may be less accessible for sightseeing and less attractive to budget tourists. Whatever your budget and needs, there is most likely a business hotel for you. |
